Instead, the required constraints are defined for each segment, which provide maximum flexibility to choose which data should be entered and which data can be skipped by the respondent.

Segments with radio buttons or check boxes

The minimum number of options can be set per row, per column, and per segment.

Common uses:

• For a segment with radio buttons, each row can be made required by setting the minimum and maximum number of answers per row to 1.

• To prevent the respondent to select the same option for different rows, the maximum number of answers per column should be set to 1.

• For a segment with the same number of rows and columns, setting the maximum number of answers per rows to 1 and the maximum number of answer per column to 1 ensure that each row has an answer and that each column is selected exactly once.

Segment with text, dates, numbers, or drop down lists

In addition to the minimum number of answers per row, column, and segment as described above for segments with radio buttons or check boxes, specific column in the segment can be required.
